Thank you, most kind. It was lovely watching the sunset up on the moor.

I've wanted to get back there since on my first visit it was absolutely chucking it down. I got luckier this time.

Getting the time is a problem, isn't it. It would mean foregoing Scotland next year (foregoing Wales is out of the question). Even after a dozen tours I reckon I've just scratched the surface. GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

Yeah, for me Dartmoor has become unaffordable for short trips, as the train fare is now huge. This was a spot of opportunism as I had to stay over in Plymouth for work and finished for the day with just enough daylight to get up here.

The sheer volume of stuff up here is astonishing though (witness the hut circle I practically fell over on Wigford Down in the dark).
