Difficult to see exactly the nature of the grooves from photo, but they appear from casual glance to be similar to the grooves of the polisher at fyfield.
Are there major differences between the two?

Obviously these are less heavily used, if they did perform the same function.

Grooves much shorter and far less deep than the Polisher ,that's the big difference .
Very difficult to date though . It's only a few miles from the Tulliemet one . I had forgotten all about them , never even mentioned them to RCAHMS ,will have to return and get proper grid refs etc.
