Ah, yes, well... :D I didn't actually get to interact with any sites, just see them - frustratingly - from the air or from the car... But we did go to some incredibly nice places. :) G x |

Yes! :) We got the train though - there's no way my two (aged 3 and 5) would stand for walking it, sadly! :D It was absolutely crystal clear - the views were ridiculous. I think we've been spoilt. No way will it ever be so clear again... G x |

| Great that you got the views. The second time I went up, I walked the easy path from Llanberis (this was the day after my hamstring disaster), and I quite enjoyed watching the train puffing past. |

I'd recommend the train for a quick (and bloody expensive, tbh!) fix, but you can't beat the exhilaration of such a walk, can you? The recorded tour on the way up told of an annual race that takes place on Snowdon, and the fastest time to the top and back again, is one hour. That's ONE HOUR. Jeez! I'd love to be so fit! That's no way to enjoy the mountain, of course, but an impressive feat, nonetheless! :) I was also recommended the Miners Path (I think that's what it's called) - I saw part of it from the top and yeah - I think that's 2 more trips up Snowdon I have to do! At least. :) G x |

Yep, one hour, but I was younger and fitter back then. Never again ;) I've been up on the train twice, once when I was very young and once when my daughter was very young. We all liked it, but too many people on top. Very much like Grimes Graves aren't they . |

The Miners Path is the one that upsets a lot of people in flip flops, cos it starts all gentle and then gets steeper at the end. The PYG is more of an even ascent from that side (same start point I think), it joins up with the Miners on the way. The route from Llanberis is much enlivened by skipping off the path itself and walking along the top of the cliffs overlooking the pass, via Llechog's summit and Clogwyn station. I've still yet to walk up via the Watkins Path, Rhydd Du or the Snowdon Ranger, and one day I still have (frightened) designs on Crib Goch. |

| I reckon the PyG would be your best bet, Goff. Or a helicopter. The Watkin starts from way down in Nant Gwynant.... lot of height to gain there. Mind you you do pass the Gladstone stone. |
