What a discovery! Aren't these just great, I love seeing these lovely ballaun stones you've been visiting. Imagine the temptation to put three plant pots of geraniums in these. Or is it just me, perhaps that's very disrespectful. Plus the fact I thought your other photo made the single stone look like it was waiting for the bus. They're so sturdy and straightforward, I feel like they have a satisfying quality that more complicated rock art kind of lacks, for all its fancy cup and rings. (just a bit of crazy tma talk there) Rhiannon Posted by Rhiannon

Perfect circles, pestle and mortar that what they remind me of, and what was those strange stick like things in the bowl? moss Posted by moss

Yes Rhiannon, they are great, but your flowerpot idea, while not disrespectful, would ruin their simplicity imho. If the smaller one is waiting on a bus it's on the wrong side of the road – that's a dead end.

They're some sort of plant seed Moss, a bit like pine needles but there are no pine trees nearby.

Also Moss, pestle and mortar is a conclusion that you would almost have to come to. ryaner Posted by ryaner

Great stones these.
Glad to see they haven't been used as gas bottle holders!
