Black Darren (Round Cairn) by GLADMAN Hatterrall Hill rises beyond at the southern end of the Offa's Dyke ridge, occupied by a promontory fort. Further cairns lie along the route.

Lovely, if a bit bleak. I assume this was a different day to Pen y Gadair Fawr? (please say yes).

Not a good day to look for the cist or my probably imaginary cup-marked stone though.

Well I had to come back at some point since Nature decided to usher the Mam and I off early last time with a violent electrical storm. Impressed by this one. The walkers' cairn is ridiculous, but thought the cairn itself impressive.

Guess I'll just have to come back again to look for the cist....
