Is time running out for Trethevy Quoit and other such unprotected Scheduled Monuments? A new video by Roy Goutté on the disruption (and potential damage) caused by horses/ponies and vehicles to the ground immediately surrounding Trethevy Quoit in Cornwall. The video shows startling and dramatic new evidence of that recent damage.

I'm happy to report that, after the irresponsible use of the field, and resultant damage as reported and photographed by Roy, the entire field has been purchased by the Cornwall Heritage Trust, which already manages the Quoit itself. This ownership will ensure that no repeat of it will occur, and that the monument will be properly cared for and protected.	Posted by craig weatherhill 15th January 2018ce
