Fab, that mountain is on the list - we'll have to pick a day when we can see BCF from it though. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat

For awareness.... it's not as easy at it may look SC. The northern Rhinogydd is very rough underfoot.... think the Glyderau with a heather covering. GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

Believe me, it doesn't look easy! The Nuttalls book has a 6 mile route, from the west, mainly using a miner's track passing between Llynau Eiddew-bach and Eiddew-mawr to get to within quite a short distance of the summit. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat

Yeah, that's the route I took some years back. Not sure if you can see BCF from the summit, though. Then again I did spend most of the time on my back to avoid being blown away. GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

Ha ha! Sounds idyllic. Obviously, we will have balmy, wind-free day and someone will have burned all the heather away. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat

Seriously, I enjoyed every minute. Go for it and get some great 'aerial shots' when you do. What a special place BCF is. Hey, why not see if you can descend to BCF? That was my intention but the weather put paid to that. GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

Now you're just trying to get us lost in the mountains! You're right about BCF though, it's something else. I would like to get back when the views are clearer.

Actually when we saw that someone with walking poles had beaten us to see BCF in the snow yesterday, I thought we might find you there in a tent with a brew on ready for us.

I've got to get here one day. I first saw a photo of this site about 10 years ago and it's stayed with me. Superb. Especially in these conditions. Evergreen Dazed Posted by Evergreen Dazed
