It doesn't feel very loved does it?, it needs some loving, I felt quite mad when i was there, but a least it's not in someones back garden like the cairn to the SE. bladup Posted by bladup

G/F and I loved it, so that'll have to do. It may have been partly because it was the first site of the holiday, the sun was shining, the stones were sparkling and it was really easy to get to. It may also have been the cup-marked slab across the field. And the great stones in the circle. Oh, I just thought it was great. Fences could do with moving, but apart from that, this was a major highlight of this trip.

(we didn't see the Croftcroy cairn in the garden, didn't know where it was exactly and I was keen to get here so didn't look for it.)

Don't get me wrong it's a great site, but the fence and all the mud from vehicle tyre's is not very nice, and such a great and complete site should be more loved and looked after, and when i was there a few years ago there was nothing stopping the cows walking all over it, and it looks just the same now, a good trip i presume. bladup Posted by bladup

Yeah, you're right about that and the fence really could be realigned easily. There were no cows in the field on our visit (sheep in the adjoining field with the cup-marked slab) and we approached over out-croppy land to the south, so didn't see the "Bull in Field" sign mentioned by Mr G until after we had left and were back on the road. Great trip, cheers. Probably the best yet. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat
