Really great to see the place in it's landscape setting [the sea looks really close], it's been a few years now that i last visited, it's a great circle, a little strange as in it's real power is not when your there but when you've left, it stays with you. bladup Posted by bladup

Cheers Mr B! The sea I think is the estuary of the River Duddon but you wouldn't believe how close the Isle of Man looked from nearby Lacra that day (see Postie's fieldnotes).

Sunkenkirk is a beauty, shame we couldn't have had longer there to ourselves, but that's greedy I suppose.
