Parc Bach

Burial Chamber

Parc Bach (Burial Chamber) by thesweetcheat Landscape context, looking across Llyn Padarn from Llanberis. The "tomb" is at the highest point of the woods just to the right of centre (above the boats). Cader Ellyll prehistoric settlement is on the hillside extreme right. Snowdon hides in the clouds.

That's a fine picture and a clear context for some of the sites and pics I've seen posted on here recently. Now on a more personal context... years back we took Auntie Betty from Pwllheli on a wee train along the left side of the loch in your picture. Then the other year we took her on the train up to the Snowdon summit. And just over the hill is Bethesda where the late, great Jackie Leven recorded at Bryn Derwen! And archaeology too? Whadda place! Howburn Digger Posted by Howburn Digger

Cheers HD, I love it round there, even the train up Snowdon has a certain charm (if only it didn't let people out at the summit!). Parc Bach is an enigmatic site though. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat
