Danby Rigg

Cairn(s)

Danby Rigg (Cairn(s)) by fitzcoraldo "At the eastern end of the Danby dike there are two ramparts separated by a deep fosse or trench; in the middle and at the western end, three ramparts with two intervening trenches. At the western end a peculiar feature, hitherto undescribed, consists of four small upright stones spaced in an arc on the central ramparts, here much flatter and wider that elsewhere and slightly concave towards the south in conformity with the position of the stones."
