Cairn to SW of Hardknott Castle (Round Cairn) by GLADMAN Looking towards Harknott Pass descending Harter Fell to Jubilee Bridge.... the approximate site of the cairn is indicated. Why not stop off and have a look if you're passing by? You can also imagine how miserable the Roman auxillaries must have been when stationed here in winter ..... and laugh!

Gladders,
That's a nice shot, and the valley your camera is pointing up, that of the Lingcove Beck, is one of Lakelands "undiscovered" gems, at least higher up. Wander there into the upper reaches, and you will hardly meet another soul. There are some very popular, and idyllic pools for swimming in lower down, which do get busy in summer.
Cheers,
TE.
