Oh Wow! You've been to Castlerigg ... isn't it just the most beautiful stone circle. 'Twas love at first sight for me in spite of the rain.

Managed to get there three times during the week, we were staying very close. Indeed beautiful - bit busy for my taste though!

Yes a bit busy, though deserted in the rain the first time I saw it. Sunkenkirk is the circle for you then but is the other end of Cumbria and not easy to get to without transport. tjj Posted by tjj

You've captured that well SC... Castlerigg's a funny place for me. Fine circle, great location, but I find the experience of visiting too annoying nowadays due to barely interested tourists 'ticking another box'. GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN
