Yep, certainly not the only one in these parts. It may have been an even bigger stone originally, possibly the finest in Carlow at one time.
Several have turned up faced inwards in walls or buried. Maybe a fear of pagan symbols, similar to the knocking down of one portal stone of some circles in Kerry.
