Had the whole place to myself, and I mean the whole place, I got there just as farmer and his wife were going out, I asked if I could have a look at the fogou, he said “of course, do you know where it is?” I said “can I see it there through the gates?” I could, so he left me to it. just like that, no hesitation at all. I’d give a million pounds to any Peak district farmer that would do the same.
