Have you ever been to Knockinglews, just north of East Aquhorthies? There are a few stones at the summit that looked a bit cairny to me. Link to a few photos (good view to bennachie from here). Ever heard/read about anything old here?
Went up Hill of Ardtannes as well, just south of Dilly Hill. Site of a cairn that stood 20 feet in height. Long gone now like the circles on the south side of the hill. Very sad. Hoped there might still be a trace but we didn't find anything. Nice walk though.
There used to be a few scattered remains at Dilly, but I know they cleared up a lot of stones only last year, and the ancient settlement was gobbled up by houses.
As for Knockinglews, I know about the hill and its quarry but never been up there. Looks like that might change.
Nice one, hope you faired better than my last visit :-) Ah just read the fieldnotes....................
We walked a couple of another tops the same day.
