To be honest there aren't, in my opinion, any sites I'd call classic in the immediate vicinity of Carmarthen, although Merlin's Hill is well worth a visit:

However if you're prepared to drive a little way out you've lots of stuff to NE around western Mynydd Du.... e.g:

....and to the NE you've untold stuff in the Preselau and , as Tjj said, The Gower to the SE
