Came across this today, a modern stone circle in Yorkshire near North Allerton. You can find it on the Meg.Port.
Pulling stones uphill is not for the fainthearted, but they did it though H/S would have had kittens as they manouvred the stone into place. Still the Winter Solstice approaches and there is something to be said for modern stone circles and long barrows to rejoice in prehistory.

Watching the film just shows that a relatively small number of folks , inexperienced , and using a make shift sled can move a large stone with not too much difficulty . Whilst not one of the great sarcen stones , shows what can be done .
