Open to offers..... the sale details;

"A most unusual opportunity to acquire over 23 acres of land including an historic iron age hill fort and former granite quarry.

Situated on a broad and prominent rounded hill, approx. 190m high, providing superb far reaching views over penwith and into mount's bay.

Archaeological fieldwork has revealed the site is thought to have originally been one of three bronze age ring cairns enclosed by a bank.

The land extends in total area to 23ΒΌ acres or thereabouts and is contained within an area of outstanding natural beauty, is an historic landscape and area of great historic value, an area of great scientific value, is classed as a scheduled ancient monument and is open access land.

The site is situated to the west of Sancreed and north of Brane, accessed off the road leading from Sancreed to Grumbla and St. Just. The impressive hill is scattered with loose granite boulders and has a thin peaty covering with dense gorse and heather thicket vegetation. The area is essentially agricultural and the land has been heathland since the prehistoric period with short term fields and some industrial workings now abandoned.

There are many other archaeological sites within the immediate area including Carn Euny, Sancreed Beacon to the east, Bartinney Downs, Tredinney Common, Chapel Carn Brea. There are many historic paths and walks in the area."

It is rough land presumably, there are several paths that run across it according to the Google map.

Be interesting to see what happens to it.
