I've dowsed myself, and got accurate results, and I've also witnessed it in Southern Island, and most recently one of my local pubs which has regular paranormal activity. They had some dowsers in as there is a ley line running through the village and it turned out that the said pub is slap bang on it. Fascinating watching them locate it.

Although I have a friend that dowsers and helped me find something on one occasion, I have never attended a meeting or talk, but will be this coming Saturday. My local village hall has a dowser called Peter Knight giving a talk on the Cerne Abbas Giant which coincidentally we were/are presently discussing on another thread.

That is a coincidence Roy as I was in the Henge Shop in Avebury the other day and was looking at the book by Peter Knight - intending to go back and buy it as the Cerne Abbas Giant is the subject of much speculation in terms of who he is supposed to represent (Hercules?), alignments etc. I'd like to say something about the Henge Shop in relation to the discussion about keeping an open mind. I used to love that shop and rarely visited without coming away with a book - on Tuesday however, it felt 'different'. There were a few reputable books about ancient sites but the majority of the rest just seemed like subjective personal speculation. I realised my mind set has changed - all the new-age paraphernalia (no disrespect to anyone) seems as delusional as any other belief system.

The previous day, however, I had been been travelling back from Devizes on the top deck of the 49 bus (just after 3.00pm). It was a beautiful golden afternoon, the Pewsey Vale, Silbury and Avebury positively shone in what seemed like an 'other-worldly' light. I'll settle for that.
