On a Watershed

I realised on my way to work yesterday that the Bullring in Dove Holes is situated less than a mile from two streams on a watershed separating the country.

One which comes down from Brown Edge, cutting a small valley to the South of the henge then heading down around and eventually into the Wye, then the Derwent and on into the Trent. The other starting somewhere near Sparrow pit runs past in a small valley to the North, picks up water from the weird Ebbing and Flowing Well, then heads down towards Chapel, black stream, the Goyt and on into the Mersey.

Given the importance given to water in the siting of henges eg Stonehenge and recent work at Arbor Low, I wonder if this was a driver for the location of the bullring.
