Bowl, Bell, Disc, Saucer, Pond and , of course, Wheel.
Has there been an attempt to establish firm associations for each type beyond appearance? Dates, materials, distribution etc?
For example, could the different types represent distinct date parameters (unlikely, I think) or do the variations in appearance indicate different funerary practices, status/age of the interred, 'empty' barrows etc etc.
I would imagine some conclusions have been drawn in this area as the available data could be relatively easily pulled together, but if there has been, I haven't read it.
