Hello,
I'm new in these parts but have a long family history in the above location.
The site of Old Knowle Mill down by the Roman Lakes has recently been excavated.
Its incredible. This is industrial heritage that appears (to me) to have much in common with truly ancient sites i have seen. The way that nature has taken over those engineering works, water wheels etc gives them the appearance of Mayan sites.
Stone in jungle.
And this is (one of) the cradle(s) of industrialisation.

I can't wait to go back there to see the progress since my last visit in April which was the first time i became aware of the work.
I wish my Grandparents were here to see it.
