Whether it's Bonnin, Humble, Ochota or the equivalent males, I'm sick of programme producers ploughing this furrow.........remorselessly, as if it's the ONLY way to attract viewers. Some of the presenters appear to know their subject better than others, but why pursue the content as if it's for a primary school audience?
Now, Neil Oliver often annoyed me on "Coast" (and the programme, too!) but his more recent solo series have been excellent, even if I don't always agree with his conclusions or enjoy the over-indulgent presentation, he's got CREDIBILTY
I agree with you to some extent especially about Neil Oliver who gets a lot of flack because of his hair - and for apparently being attractive. His hair is his business (he'll lose it soon enough) he's a superb presenter who is passionate about his subject and whose enthusiasm is infectious. There is also Iain Stewart who can't make a programme without abseiling down a cliff in some exotic location - mildly annoying but I can always do the other thing and leave telly switched off. As for the women mentioned in your post, the only one I've actually seen is Kate Humble who presents Spring/Autumn Watch. Can't see anything wrong with her - again obviously passionate about her subject (wildlife) and quite smiley. I think its called entertainment.
