I believe that the potential use of the quoit as a tomb would necessitate either the open aspects being covered or the whole structure being buried. This would prevent the alignments and optical dynamics from happening or being observed, so IF (and I think it's a big if) the structure has ever been used for burials, it would probably have been much later, perhaps after the astronomical and optical functions had been long forgotten.

This would definitely be my Tardis destination, not only to find out Who, but also How and Why! :)


As has already been pointed out to you , burial deposits are and covering cairns common in this type of monument , the big IF is the putative astronomy unknown from portal tombs .
