There are some discrepancies.

The plan given in the book shows a possible avenue heading slightly north of west from the circles. the circles are stated to be on Hackpen Hill. However, the avenue is said to be directed just to the south of Silbury Hill. This would place the circles just off the end of the hill, south of the current road - exactly where the Sanctuary is.

Looking at a map, I can't see anywhere obvious where a site north of the modern A4 could have a sighting WNW to the south of Silbury. Of course, I don't have access to the older maps here just now which might settle the matter.
