Genuine examples of rock art have been popping up in Orkney in the past few years ,almost all due to excavation as the marked rocks in Orkney don't tend to be in the open air.The particular type of markings that are similar to those on the stone tend to be found in some burial contexts and in Skara Brae .
This stone appears to be in a modern kitchen context

It's not standard practice for archaelogists to do plaster casts of such markings these days .
Cheers for answering Tiompan...the original poster it would seem has decided to avoid open airings(sorry.....lol) and questions for whatever reasons...leaving us all the more curious about the stone.

Some saddo might want to buy it , but who would be that daft ?

Equally some saddo might want to forge it and pretend archeos were interested for selling purposes.....I still maintain archeos would be more interested in finding it's place of origin rather than putting a "stookie" on it!
(Tiompan will know that expression...lol)
