Took a look at this today. Apart from the scratch marks from the JCB that moved the stone and the modern setting that the stone rests on, the biggest give-away is the total lack of lichen on the stone.

In this part of the country, it takes no time at all for lichen to take hold, so this stone is definitely of very recent provenance.

Although I have no info on this stone as yet, I wouldn't be surprised if Rory T'igo (sp?) didn't have a hand in it. He's a local sculptor who has erected many new stones in the area.
