I can't think of anything better than running a boozer in one of the most beautiful and interesting parts of the country with a regular flow of interesting characters. That said , I probably know the answer...a mate of mine ran a pub for a while and realized pretty quickly that it was a 24/7 nightmare and any profit he made was soon snaffled by the ever increasing rent and beer prices imposed on him by the brewery concerned.
