My friend Alistair writes an account of Stonehenge's recent history, including the recent Solstice event. This is his debut with a regular column and there will be more of interest to folks here.

Last week a group of us went to Avebury for the post-solstice event of my birthday, and Ali was handy to have around for the occasional footnote.
(I still say that it's not a phoenix, it's Daffy Duck)
Sorry I missed Discover Avebury, but this was the next best thing.

btw I recently got a copy of the seventies TV show, "Children of the Stones", which featured Gareth "Blake out of Blakes 7" Thomas and Iain Cuthbertson. Surprisingly intense for a kids drama, but with some dodgy, papier mache stones-shaped-like-humans added to the circle.

Interesting shots of the museum, as it was in the 70s. And some badly-clothed youngsters.

Cheers

Ade
