Spotted this on one of the Cornish E-Lists. Some here may be interested and want to protest:

The moors around Carn Kenidjack near St Just in Penwith are at risk.
This large area of heathland is a mecca for ramblers and horseriders
and has been for centuries. It is one of the few large unfenced areas
in Cornwall.
Now funded by the Lottery it is intended to put up barbed wire and
gates. This is to keep in a new herd of cattle. This act of
desecration is being carried out by Kenny Trembath a local farmer
from Sun Set Farm at Carnyorth. The land is owned by Lord Falmouth.
This scheme is being opposed by local walkers, naturalists and
horseriders. The area is also the site of Tregeseal Stone Circle, holed
stones, barrows and ancient field systems - this is why the scheme is
also being opposed by archaelogists.
The scheme has been approved on the quit by a small unelected group
of people without the knowledge of the locals that use the area.
Unfortunately the project has the support of some alleged heatland
expert that supports the introduction of cattle. The area has been
heatland for centuries without cattle grazing.
This is simply a money making scheme by a local farmer and landlord
and has nothing to do with nature conservation.
Please object in any way that you can think of.The local town council
is St Just in Penwith and the district council is Penwith
