| Although not prehistoric some of the cairns on scottish hills particularly the bigger ones have cairns that are over 8m in height . Usually this was to increase the height to a magic number like 4000 ft in the case of Ben Lawers but there is one on Creag Meagaidh that isn't even on the summit but is immense .
