I should let them - its a good summer project ;) try them with miniatures as well to get the feel of how things are built....
I recall a secondary school about 20 miles ago had one in their grounds...it was there for years until it finally collapsed. I'll give them a ring and ask about materials, sizing and feasability. The village has been rather important with regards to finds from that period. So it would be a great project.
