In the 18th century, the antiquary William Stukeley dismissed the architect John Wood's theories as the "whimsys of his own crackt imagination"


Didn't English Heritage consult with Australian architects on a design for the new Visitors' Centre; one wonders how much the 'whimsys of their crackt imagination' in this instance cost the taxpayer ;-)
