I'm not ignoring it I'm saying it's essentially not true.

I don't think anyone has yet hitched a team of 1000 or 2000 fit tug 'o war guys to a 45 ton stone. A healthy human can produce about 1.2 horse power briefly and trained athletes can manage up to about 0.3 horsepower for a period of several hours. That's many hundreds of horses.
