I really wouldn't express an opinion on this one anyway. As you say I haven't been there and looking at it I don't think I'd make the effort to do so :-).
My choice of RA was actually a bad example. As PeterH says elsewhere how many standing stones have been properly dated? Saying that, one about a mile down the road from my house was always thought to be a scratching stone, but when they moved it they found an urn at its base. So even the ones thought by the experts to be modern can prove to be old.
