Hunt's story of the giant losing all his blood into the sea is also connected (I Think!) with St Agnes on the north coast. I am not sure if it is Bolster, the giant who could strol from St Agnes Beacon to Carn Brea with one stride but....
There is a story about how he had to prove his love to some fair damsel by filling a hole in the ground with his blood. He cut his arm and let the blood flow...unbeknown to him, the hole was a mine shaft and the blood all poured out into the sea.
I have the story somewhere...not sure whose book it is in? Have you come across it?
