"Three different paint samples were tested on the horse and are being monitored to measure the rate of deposit. English Heritage said these trials now have to be repeated to ensure the right approach is adopted to achieve a white surface which will stand the test of time".
Non organic substances such as paint in an organic landscape, is not exactly the best method, presumably they can't get rid of the concrete now, (though of course there was that defective batch in the news lately) it was put on 8 years ago, might not have been EH - could have been generously donated by cement factory!!. It cost £20.000 at Cherhill, for chalk and timber..
