Me and WNH got ourselves off down to Chapel Stile yesterday, he'd never seen the carvings before.

He found some carvings on the other side of the wall, on the same face of the same boulder as the main one.
Got some great pics, will be posted later today hopefully.

We couldn't find anything on Magic, but that might not mean anything (but it id say about another boulder, which we missed... doh!)

Anyway, looking back, I was there last year and took this:

Which shows it quite well too (if you squint)
I've had a quick look around and can't find anything with this part of the stone detailed... although I can't for the life of me lay my hands on my Cumbria RA Stan book just now... gawd knows where I put it .

Anyhoo... anyone got any idea about them please?
Definitely some carvings there / rings around possible natural cups.
Question is ... are they recorded anywhere else?

Also, while we're at it, we came past Elterwater village and in the middle of the marshy bit outside the village there was a cairny-looking thing, couldn't find anything on magic about it, any idea if this is real? Anyone know what I'm talking about? :P
