Running legs?

The triangular 'pedunda' carvings are very common across europe. As they'd never seen a camel I can't think what else they'd be.

There are some good examples in <i>Prehistoric Art</i> by Jean-Pierre Mohen - a big high gloss book, but well worth getting out from the library if not buying.
