Yellow jackets

Dear friends,

Let's have your thoughts on this one.

When I launched the "Peace Stewards" scheme for Stonehenge 2000 I
undertook to make some small, bright yellow badges, with the Stonehenge
Peace Process logo (dove emerging from the stones) and people's first
name or chosen nickname, purely as identity to aid communication.

To learn about the voluntary Peace Stewards scheme, log on to:

We have also been offered (for a price) yellow jackets with PEACE or a
logo, these can be purchased by individuals, or hired (Deposit 25UKP and
20UKP Return, so the hire is a fiver)

I want to stress that the Stonehenge Peace Process or other supporting
organisations are NOT in a financial position to BUY "a cup of tea" for
anybody, let alone plastic jackets costing 25 quid so this is not the
issue that I'm asking you to debate. We just FAILED to get funding (for
the TRuth & REconcilattion Commission for Stonehenge) from the Rowntree
Trust. We CANNOT buy/supply them so it will have to be an individual
decision for the Peace Stewards who sign up, and I'm willing as
Secretary to let them have the information and decide for themselves.

However I personally have qualms about official yellow jackets, I think
of people who have been on road protests, how will they "feel" about us
setting up as "Peace Police" in yellow jackets? However I believe Exodus
(who are cool dudes) use something similar at their parties and find it
very effective. The yellow jackets are visible, high profile, would I
personally wear one, the answer is NO! (I don't go hot on uniforms!)

Your comments please.
