Nigel - the way this decision has been made is as arbitary as the way decions about other EH managed heritage have been made.

The point I was making, and I'm aware of Nighthawks and heritage issues, was all to do with whose heritage is it, who decides what is done with it and how it is used?

I know certain sites are kept under-wraps, but just showing a deserving few around them does not solve the problem, it only keeps it under control. If we do not have ideals to work towards why bother with any of it? It must mean something, it must be for something, surely its not only heritage as entertainment?
