I never read the hype of EH press statements, my finger is unique.

I think you will find that this artefact has a very definate owner and that it is up to the owner ultimately what happens to it.

I can't see your logic here. I can understand from an archaeologists point of view that preservation may come secondary to research, but from my perspective and whole lot of others, preservation in situ is a very impotant thing - it preserves local heritage.
