Jane, your news item about the ghost investigators at Carn Llechart being made ill...
It happened in 2 stages - First, when there... "It was like being punched in the stomach." And then later - "Since our visit we suffered severe headaches, stomach problems, lethargy and general illness. It was almost as if our energy was completely sapped by whatever was in the centre of those stones."
Our fieldnotes contain this...."the lady who took me there remembers going to the circle as a child and the centre chamber had a sulphur spring underneath. She recalls the strong smell of sulphur that used to be all those years ago."
Google says:
"Sulphur spring waters are purgative, since the alvine canal hastens to rid itself of these injurious waters."
and then "A stay at the watering place teaches the colon to rely upon the mineral excitant, hence the chronic constipation that so often follows..."
What do you reckon? Can you think of a punchline?
