You're right, Chris.
I'll see what the County Archaeologist says, and then I'll get in touch with Dorchester Abbey, find out when they raised the cross, and why so huge, and after that, I'll write to EH to ask why they felt it was appropriate to allow such action to take place. I will also put in a request for permission to erect a sodding great memorial to Thomas Hardy six feet from the edge of Stonehenge, unless anyone has any better ideas for an irritation planning request.
