A little out of TMA's remit, concentrating on Pictish stones and early Christian cross-slabs, as well as temporary exhibitions of local history subjects.
Opening hours are seasonal, so check before visiting.
We visited October 2012. The stones and slabs on display are amazing, beautifully carved and nicely displayed. There is a short video about Pictish stones that's well worth watching. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nice gift-shop with a decent book selection too.
It's a small musuem, so more than about half a dozen visitors at a time might seem rather cramped! |
