This place is excellent, no other word for it!
We weren't planning on staying here, but torrential rain an rapidly-approaching darkness forced our hand. The Inversnaid Hotel phoned up for us, and we got the last 2 beds. They even drove down to pick us up!
The hostel itself is a converted church. Downstairs are the bunkhouse rooms and drying room, while upstairs is an open-plan dining and lounging area. There's a fantastic music system, TV, DVD player, Playstation and licensed cafe area, while outside is a jacuzzi, and massages can be arranged.
There's one meal option each night, but the food is home-cooked and great. The night we were there it was pasta bolognese, and with just half an hour's notice Marion cooked me a special vegetarian meal which was delicious. Breakfast was equally good. |
